Facebook “i feel my phone vibrate when it doesn’t.”

I checked my Facebook the other day and laughed at the sight of one of my friend joined “I feel my phone vibrate when it doesn’t”. The group had more than 230,000 members last time I checked. I laughed because it’s a funny name for a group … not laughing at my friend!

When I brought up the topic, more of my friends confessed that it has happened to them too. Now that I think about it, it has happened to me too.

It is not happening to me now, and I asked myself, why?

Well, some donkey years back, I used to spend money on expensive gadget. Brand new laptop with top graphics card, the latest Nokia, top of the line digital camera, etc.

Back then I had my phone with me all of the time! Even when I shower! At home I always had it near me. When I sleep, it was always within my reach!

Somewhere down the line I realized that I’ve been foolish and vain. Two years ago, I gave up my Nokia N series mobile phone and instead use a very old Sony-Ericson (my youngest brother gave it to me for free). That old phone had basic calendar, basic 1st generation lowest-res camera, and of course TXT and call (sometimes we forget what mobile phone is really for).

I found myself not caring that much about my mobile phone. I don’t have it with me all the time anymore. I never bring my mobile phone with me when eating my meal. I don’t have my mobile phone near me when I sleep. Although, I still bring it with me every time I go out … I believe it is essential communication tool when being away from home.

I think that’s when I stopped feeling my phone vibrate when it doesn’t!
